Webinar: Introducing ST25Connect from STMicroelectronics

STMicroelectronics logoST25Connect provides brands looking to adopt NFC technology with access to a network of design and implementation experts around the world, program leader Romain Pardo tells NFCW editor Sarah Clark in this 20-minute interview.

The program provides brands with a single point of contact they can use to connect with both ST’s technical experts and with a network of trusted partners, Pardo says.

NFC “is a clever way to establish a privilege between the brands and their consumers,” he explains. “It’s a bi-directional communication channel, which means the brand can share news about the products or the brand itself. But it’s also a way for the consumers to share direct feedback to the brand.

“It’s also a way to verify the authenticity of the products. Indeed, counterfeiting is a serious concern, growing at the moment in many, many industries, and NFC brings a solution to the brands and also to the consumers — to make sure the product is authentic before the purchase. It’s also a way to get information about the products and therefore creates a legitimate relationship between the brand and the consumer.”

“We see more and more industries looking at NFC technology and investing in this technology,” Pardo adds. “We really want to support the brands who are maybe not fully aware of NFC technology and especially the NFC constraints. We really want to work with them and to make sure they can take full advantage of this technology.”

While NFC technology offers many possibilities, the physical integration brings some constraints that have to be considered right from the beginning of a project, Pardo adds.

“On top of providing the silicon, STMicroelectronics can support the customer and provide full expertise and support to companies from a wide range of industries and also offer a network of trusted partners, which is going to be necessary for the best business setup.”

‘Introducing STMicroelectronics’ ST25Connect program’ is hosted by NFCW editor Sarah Clark and is sponsored by STMicroelectronics.
