CSOB launched its HCE-based NFC mobile payments service in June 2016, but this is just the start of the bank’s wider mobile wallet ambitions, writes innovation manager Jan Nezbeda.
In this article, he explains in detail how the bank went about developing and implementing its HCE service, and how the bank now plans to add loyalty cards, shopping lists, digital receipts and more.
Nezbeda also describes the main product design challenges faced by the bank and the procedures adopted for developing, testing and piloting its standalone mobile wallet app. He then looks at the app’s functionality and identifies simple activation and usage as key factors in ensuring positive customer response before explaining CSOB’s strategy for encouraging adoption of its mobile payments service and for developing its mobile wallet app in the longer term.
